Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs from the Polaroid Collection, which included the work Merced River, Cliffs Of Cathedral Rock, Autumn by Ansel Adams. The price achieved of USD 218,500.00 (€ 177,772.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ansel Adams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Polaroid Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Merced River, Cliffs Of Cathedral Rock, Autumn von Ansel Adams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 218.500,00 (€ 177.772,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ansel Adams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
