In May last year Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Through the Bridge on a Winter Day by Grandma Moses. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,120.00 (€ 14,090.02), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grandma Moses achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sugaring Off in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,360,000.00 (€ 1,025,563.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Through the Bridge on a Winter Day von Grandma Moses zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 14.090,02) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grandma Moses erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sugaring Off im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.360.000,00 (€ 1.025.563,68).
