The work A Ride in the Cutter by Grandma Moses was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in Paris in May this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,760.00 (€ 20,424.25), 45% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grandma Moses achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sugaring Off in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,360,000.00 (€ 1,025,563.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Ride in the Cutter von Grandma Moses wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.760,00 (€ 20.424,25) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grandma Moses erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sugaring Off im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.360.000,00 (€ 1.025.563,68).
