This price was achieved in the auction The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Anna Barriball have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Door in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,966.66).
