Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Anjum Singh could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Variable changed hands for GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,672.49) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anjum Singh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Zebra Crossing, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,900.55).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Anjum Singh konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Variable für GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.672,49) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Anjum Singh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Zebra Crossing beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.900,55) versteigert wurde.
