Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Anjum Singh could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary Indian Art auction, the work Traffic changed hands for USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,540.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Anjum Singh have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2008 by the work Zebra Crossing at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,900.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anjum Singh konnte im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Indian Art wechselte die Arbeit Traffic für USD 16.250,00 (€ 11.540,37) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Anjum Singh wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2008 die Arbeit Zebra Crossing mit GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.900,55).
