This artwork by Anju Dodiya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2008. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,380.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anju Dodiya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cocoon in September last year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 334,866.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anju Dodiya erzielte im Juni 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.380,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anju Dodiya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cocoon im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 334.866,61).
