This artwork by Anjolie Ela Menon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2014. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Portrait) sold for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 25,537.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anjolie Ela Menon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 118,625.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anjolie Ela Menon erzielte im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait) für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 25.537,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anjolie Ela Menon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 118.625,92).
