Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Certain Smile by Anjolie Ela Menon was auctioned at Christies in New York in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 6,439.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anjolie Ela Menon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 118,625.92).

Die Arbeit A Certain Smile von Anjolie Ela Menon kam im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 6.439,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anjolie Ela Menon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 118.625,92).
