Angel Botello (1913-1986) Untitled (Woman) signed 'Botello' and initialed and dated 'A.74' (on the verso) oil on board laid on panel 48 x 17 in. (122 x 43.1cm.) Painted in 1974.
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art Online, which included the work Untitled (Woman) by Ángel Botello. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,160.00 (€ 20,293.94). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ángel Botello achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Niña durmiendo in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 397,000.00 (€ 270,288.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Woman) von Ángel Botello zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.160,00 (€ 20.293,94) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ángel Botello erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Niña durmiendo im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 397.000,00 (€ 270.288,67).
