Upper estimate price exceeded by 54 %.
In June last year Bonhams in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Queen Elizabeth II, from Reigning Queens by Andy Warhol. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 277,500.00 (€ 322,376.06), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
