Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Lecons De Perspective Positive. Paris: Mamert Patisson, 1576. by Jacques Androuet du Cerceau I was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 7,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,215.99). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques Androuet du Cerceau I - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Façade of Five Bays In The Corinthian Order, The Central Bay With A Doorway Surmounted By The French Royal Arms, The Surmounting Balustrade With A Central Arch With A Relief of A Mounted Falconer And Two Female Figures Supporting A Fleur-De-Lys, which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56
Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques Androuet du Cerceau I mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Façade of Five Bays In The Corinthian Order, The Central Bay With A Doorway Surmounted By The French Royal Arms, The Surmounting Balustrade With A Central Arch With A Relief of A Mounted Falconer And Two Female Figures Supporting A Fleur-De-Lys beobachtet, die im Juli 2006 für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.213,10) versteigert wurde.
