Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mercury and Herse by Andries Cornelis Lens was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of NLG 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of NLG 8,225.00 (€ 3,962.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andries Cornelis Lens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Moïse Sauvé Des Eaux, which sold at auction in April 2014 for EUR 15,000.00.

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von NLG 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von NLG 8.225,00 (€ 3.962,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
