Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Cupid Nurtured By Hope; And Time Clipping Cupid'S Wings (2) by Andries Cornelis Lens. The price achieved of GBP 4,845.00 (€ 5,740.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andries Cornelis Lens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Moïse Sauvé Des Eaux, which sold at auction in April 2014 for EUR 15,000.00.
