Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Bonhams in London held the auction Travel & Exploration Sale, which included the work An album of approximately 45 sketches including views from Malta, Gibraltar, Ceylon and Egypt album size 16.9 x 24.1cm (6 5/8 x 9 1/2in). by Andrew Nicholl. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,480.00 (€ 5,213.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Andrew Nicholl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poppies, cornflowers and daisies on Killiney Hill; Killiney Bay, Bray Head and the Sugar Loaf mountain in the distance in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 21,150.00 (€ 33,937.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Travel & Exploration Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An album of approximately 45 sketches including views from Malta, Gibraltar, Ceylon and Egypt album size 16.9 x 24.1cm (6 5/8 x 9 1/2in). von Andrew Nicholl zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.480,00 (€ 5.213,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew Nicholl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poppies, cornflowers and daisies on Killiney Hill; Killiney Bay, Bray Head and the Sugar Loaf mountain in the distance im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.150,00 (€ 33.937,95).
