Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Bank Of Wild Flowers With Cattle Grazing, A Lough And Castle Beyond by Andrew Nicholl was sold in the The Irish Sale auction at Sothebys in London in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,244.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andrew Nicholl - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poppies, cornflowers and daisies on Killiney Hill; Killiney Bay, Bray Head and the Sugar Loaf mountain in the distance, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 21,150.00 (€ 33,937.95).
