Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A distant view of Bassenthwaite Lake, Cumberland, at the edge of the forest by Andrew MacCallum for USD 4,780.00 (€ 2,896.97). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andrew MacCallum - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Twilight, Burnham Beeches, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,434.92).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
