Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cycling In The Sun by Andrew Macara was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in June 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 900.00 (€ 1,335.55). Admittedly, works by Andrew Macara have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,459.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cycling In The Sun von Andrew Macara im Juni 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 900,00 (€ 1.335,55) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew Macara auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 7.459,72).
