In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Saint Palais by Andrew Macara. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,792.00 (€ 2,090.72), 49% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andrew Macara - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,459.72).

Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Palais von Andrew Macara zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.792,00 (€ 2.090,72) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Andrew Macara mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany beobachtet, die im Juli 2011 für GBP 6.500,00 (€ 7.459,72) versteigert wurde.
