Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Afternoon Santorini by Andrew Macara for GBP 1,140.00 (€ 1,677.95). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British & Irish Art at Sothebys in Olympia and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Andrew Macara have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,459.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Afternoon Santorini von Andrew Macara für GBP 1.140,00 (€ 1.677,95) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in Olympia erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew Macara auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 7.459,72).
