Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Memory Window by Andrew Sibley. The price achieved of AUD 9,987.50 (€ 5,528.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andrew Sibley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Musicians in Love - Mad Lovers Series, which sold at auction in May 2001 for AUD 25,850.00 (€ 15,494.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Memory Window von Andrew Sibley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 9.987,50 (€ 5.528,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Andrew Sibley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Musicians in Love - Mad Lovers Series beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für AUD 25.850,00 (€ 15.494,71) versteigert wurde.
