Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Climbing by Andrew Sibley was sold in the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. The price achieved of AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,875.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andrew Sibley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Musicians in Love - Mad Lovers Series in May 2001 with an auction result of AUD 25,850.00 (€ 15,494.71).

Die Arbeit Climbing von Andrew Sibley wurde im April 2006 in der Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.780,00 (€ 2.875,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew Sibley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Musicians in Love - Mad Lovers Series im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 25.850,00 (€ 15.494,71).
