Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Harbour of Pittenweem by Andrew Gamley was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 329.00 (€ 522.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Andrew Gamley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gullane Golf Course in August 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,996.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Harbour of Pittenweem von Andrew Gamley kam im September 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 329,00 (€ 522,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew Gamley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gullane Golf Course im August 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.996,53).
