This artwork by András Markó achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2001. In the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction, the work The Marble Quarries At Carrara sold for GBP 14,100.00 (€ 22,960.83) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by András Markó; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hungarian Shepherds In A Bucolic Athenean Landscape With The Acropolis And Piraeus Beyond sold at auction in December 2014 with the realized price of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 27,355.80).

Dieses Kunstwerk von András Markó erzielte im Juli 2001 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
