Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Brisk Reindeer Sleigh Ride by András Markó was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,211.31). Admittedly, works by András Markó have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hungarian Shepherds In A Bucolic Athenean Landscape With The Acropolis And Piraeus Beyond in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 27,355.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Brisk Reindeer Sleigh Ride von András Markó im Januar 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.211,31) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von András Markó auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hungarian Shepherds In A Bucolic Athenean Landscape With The Acropolis And Piraeus Beyond im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 27.355,80).
