The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,123.39), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by András Markó - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hungarian Shepherds In A Bucolic Athenean Landscape With The Acropolis And Piraeus Beyond, which sold at auction in December 2014 for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 27,355.80).

Die Arbeit Herding goats on a mountain pass von András Markó wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.123,39) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
