Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Still Life Of Flowers In A Blue-And-White Porcelain Bowl, Resting On A Stone Ledge by Andrea Scacciati was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,275.65). Admittedly, works by Andrea Scacciati have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Parrot tulips, hydrangeas, carnations and other flowers in an urn with a parrot holding an earring in its beak on a ledge in October 2010 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 91,376.49).
