Sold at the upper estimate price
In February 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work French Le Puits Qui Parle (The Talking Well) by Anatole Vély. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,182.18), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anatole Vély - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French la Meditation, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 26,250.00 (€ 31,368.71).
