This artwork by Amoako Boafo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the The Now Evening Auction auction, the work Tonica and Adia sold for USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 998,043.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Amoako Boafo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hands Up, which sold at auction in December 2021 for HKD 26,650,000.00 (€ 3,018,669.38).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Amoako Boafo erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Now Evening Auction wurde die Arbeit Tonica and Adia für USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 998.043,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hands Up beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für HKD 26.650.000,00 (€ 3.018.669,38) versteigert wurde.
