Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Madame Gandrillas And Her Children, Marie-Rose, Carmen And Juana by Ambrose McEvoy for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,737.70). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Ambrose McEvoy have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2007 by the work Portrait of Dorothy Duveen, Three-Quarter Length, Seated On A Red Chair at GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,588.14).
