Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled; Untitled (2) by Amalia de Schulthess was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 38.25 (€ 35.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amalia de Schulthess achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Canto d'Estate No. II, Variation No. XVIIII in December 2021 with an auction result of USD 10,837.50 (€ 9,575.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled; Untitled (2) von Amalia de Schulthess im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 38,25 (€ 35,90) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Amalia de Schulthess erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Canto d'Estate No. II, Variation No. XVIIII im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 9.575,46).
