Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Amadou Seck could be acquired at Bonhams in London in April 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale auction, the work Totem figure changed hands for GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,613.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Amadou Seck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dignitaire, 1980, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 5,460.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Amadou Seck konnte im April 2021 bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale wechselte die Arbeit Totem figure für GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.613,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Amadou Seck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dignitaire, 1980 beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 5.460,00 versteigert wurde.
