This artwork by Alvin Langdon Coburn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2017. In the MoMA: Pictorialism into Modernism auction, the work Vortograph, c. 1917 sold for USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,560.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alvin Langdon Coburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vortograph in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 605,000.00 (€ 439,137.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alvin Langdon Coburn erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion MoMA: Pictorialism into Modernism wurde die Arbeit Vortograph, c. 1917 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.560,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alvin Langdon Coburn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vortograph im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 605.000,00 (€ 439.137,69).
