Commentaire : Il s'agirait d'une oeuvre tardive dans la carrière de l'artiste, datant probablement des années 1915-1920. Nous pouvons rapprocher notre petit panneau de la toile intitulée 'La Muse le soir', plus aboutie techniquement et datée de 1916.

In March 2012 Artcurial held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work Sapho Ou La Poésie Lyrique by Alphonse Osbert. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 5,792.00 45% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alphonse Osbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In The Evening'S Tranquility in November 2017 with an auction result of EUR 52,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im März 2012 führte Artcurial die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sapho Ou La Poésie Lyrique von Alphonse Osbert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 5.792,00 und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alphonse Osbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In The Evening'S Tranquility im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 52.500,00.
