Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French Reverie Au Clair De Lune by Alphonse Osbert was sold in the European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting auction at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,534.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alphonse Osbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Evening'S Tranquility in November 2017 with an auction result of EUR 52,500.00.
