In the European Art auction, the work Sergent Major De Chasseur À Pied sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 15,586.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alphonse de Neuville - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Salute, which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 34,497.71).
