Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Virgin and Child by Alonso Cano was sold in the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,137.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alonso Cano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 126,000.00 (€ 150,291.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Virgin and Child von Alonso Cano wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.137,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alonso Cano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 126.000,00 (€ 150.291,57).
