The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,731.36) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alonso Cano have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 126,000.00 (€ 150,291.57).

Die Arbeit The infant Christ sleeping von Alonso Cano kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.731,36) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alonso Cano auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 126.000,00 (€ 150.291,57).
