In the Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction, the work A lady, in profile to left, in lace-bordered black dress, a comb, pearls and a pink rose in her upswept hair sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,850.71) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Alois Gustav Rockstuhl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,418.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alois Gustav Rockstuhl erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes wurde die Arbeit A lady, in profile to left, in lace-bordered black dress, a comb, pearls and a pink rose in her upswept hair für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.850,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alois Gustav Rockstuhl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.418,73).
