In February 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Maritime, which included the work The 3rd Battle Squadron: H.M.S. Iron Duke , H.M.S. Empress of India, H.M.S. Marlborough and H.M.S. Benbow by Alma Claude Burlton Cull. The price achieved of USD 3,824.00 (€ 3,073.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alma Claude Burlton Cull - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The German Fleet, Under Escort To Scapa Flow, After Its Surrender In November 1918 (Illustrated), which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,484.56).
