Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Black is Beautiful, So Is White, So Is... by Alastair MacKinven for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,611.51). This price was achieved in the auction Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Gallery at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alastair MacKinven - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pop Was The Sound Of The Bubble Bursting, which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,789.26).
