Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Calligraphic Forms) by Ali Shirazi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in June 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,062.50 (€ 5,691.00). Admittedly, works by Ali Shirazi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 27,932.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Calligraphic Forms) von Ali Shirazi im Juni 2019 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.062,50 (€ 5.691,00) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ali Shirazi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 27.932,96).
