The work French After The Rain by Alfred Smith was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2010. The price achieved of USD 92,500.00 (€ 69,538.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, French After The Rain is the most expensive artwork by Alfred Smith that we have observed at auctions so far.
