Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfred Priest achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2001. In the Islamic and Indian Works of Art auction, the work Prayer on Dal Lake Kashmir sold for GBP 646.25 (€ 1,044.43) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Priest - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sea piece, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,560.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Priest erzielte im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Islamic and Indian Works of Art wurde die Arbeit Prayer on Dal Lake Kashmir für GBP 646,25 (€ 1.044,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Priest mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sea piece beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.560,89) versteigert wurde.
