Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Interiors: Fine Art Online, which included the work Horse by Alfred Duke. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,125.00 (€ 995.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Duke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An English setter and a pointer in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 9,400.00 (€ 13,493.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Interiors: Fine Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Horse von Alfred Duke zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.125,00 (€ 995,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Duke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An English setter and a pointer im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.400,00 (€ 13.493,84).
