The work The Return by Alfred Dedreux was sold in the An Opulent Aesthetic: An Important Private Collection from an English Country House auction at Christies in London in February this year. It achieved a price of GBP 930,000.00 (€ 1,060,789.47), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alfred Dedreux; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Return sold at auction in May 2005 with the realized price of GBP 848,000.00 (€ 1,251,914.16).

Die Arbeit The Return von Alfred Dedreux wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion An Opulent Aesthetic: An Important Private Collection from an English Country House bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 930.000,00 (€ 1.060.789,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alfred Dedreux; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Return im Mai 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 848.000,00 (€ 1.251.914,16).
