Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Veiled Woman With Pipe by Alexis Preller was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art, Including Russian and Latin American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2010. The price achieved of USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,242.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexis Preller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mapogga Women with a Child, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 56,500.00 (€ 66,987.11).

Die Arbeit Veiled Woman With Pipe von Alexis Preller wurde im Oktober 2010 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art, Including Russian and Latin American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.242,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexis Preller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mapogga Women with a Child beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 56.500,00 (€ 66.987,11) versteigert wurde.
