This artwork by Alexandre Delatour achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait of a gentleman, circa 1815 sold for GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,378.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexandre Delatour - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Countess Elisaveta Vorontsova, Née Branicka (1792-1880), which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,279.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexandre Delatour erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, circa 1815 für GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.378,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexandre Delatour mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Countess Elisaveta Vorontsova, Née Branicka (1792-1880) beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.279,70) versteigert wurde.
