Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Set Design For Act I Of Pskovityanka by Alexander Yakovlevich Golovin was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 36,481.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Yakovlevich Golovin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Fridrikh Eduardovich Krimmer, 1919, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 90,500.00 (€ 134,297.45).
