Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Grand Staircase at Peterhof Palace by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,148.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Promenade of Empress Elizabeth in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 349,809.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Grand Staircase at Peterhof Palace von Alexander Nikolaevich Benois kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.148,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Nikolaevich Benois erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Promenade of Empress Elizabeth im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 441.600,00 (€ 349.809,89).
